JUNETEENTH, also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day and Cel-Liberation Day, is celebrated in the USA on June 19.  On June 19, 1865, the Emancipation Proclamation was read to enslaved African Americans in Texas.  Reggae music is the soundtrack for the African liberation struggle, and 12 artistes from Jamaica, the USA, Trinidad and Tobago and Costa Rica have come together to present the 8-song EP entitled FREEDOM (The Declaration of Rights).  

FREEDOM (The Declaration of Rights) is produced by Jubba White of White Stone Productions, featuring various artistes singing solo, as well as in beautiful combinations. Artistes on the EP include, the Mighty Diamonds, I-taweh, Aaron Nigel Smith, Kristine Alicia, Frassman Brilliant, Honey B, Jahricio, Katteye, Jah Guidance, Covi, Kava Jah and Jubba White. The EP is available for release on June 19 and distributed by Tuff Gong International. 

The original recording of DECLARATION OF RIGHTS was done by the Abyssinians and released in 1971 on Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One label. In 1981 the Mighty Diamonds recorded an alternative version of DECLARATION OF RIGHTS for Gussie Clarke’s Music Works label. The Mighty Diamonds are featured on the EP project in a new recording of DECLARATION OF RIGHTS in combination with American singer, Aaron Nigel Smith.The title track of the EP is FREEDOMa modernized remake of the Abyssinians’ original recording featuring three artistes from a younger generation, I-Taweh, American rapper Covi and Jubba White. The FREEDOM single and video are available now. 

FREEDOM (The Declaration of Rights) is a project idea that has been in the making for several years, and whose time has come. It addresses the plight of the marginalized, and serves as an inspiration to maintain sovereignty over your own destiny.
