Pato Banton & ‘Bambaata’ Marley at Belly Up! This show was a great way to kick off the New Year with positive vibes. Pato Banton performed a high energy show with the Now Generation Band which included two saxophones, guitar, bass, drums and Pato’s lovely wife Antoinette Hall on keyboards and backing vocals.
Pato’s ever exciting show revved up the audience with his classic songs and choreography always including some audience participation. This Grammy nominee never fails to please his audience and bring positive Divine Love into the mix. One of my favorites that he performed was “Heal This World”. He also did his trademark songs “Don’t Sniff Coke” and “My Opinion”.
Opening for Pato this night was Daniel “Bambaata” Marley, eldest son of Ziggy Marley and grandson of Bob Marley.
This young man drove home a driving reggae/rock style with expertise. Some of my favorite songs he performed were “UFO” and “Soft As Your Touch”. He did some powerful rock songs too. I don’t know the names of all his songs as yet. He is coming out with an EP soon (it’s in the mixing stage). He’s quite an exciting rock style performer. I think he will go far in the mainstream music biz.
If either one of these artists come to your town, go and see them!!! You will be happy you did!
